Story | Jack And The Beanstalk

Once upon a time, there was a poor widow and her son named Jack. One day, Jack's mother told him to sell their only cow. Jack went to the market and on his way, he met a man who wanted to buy the cow. Jack asked the man, "What will you give me in exchange for my cow?" The man replied, "I will give you five magic beans!" Jack took the magic beans and gave the man the cow. But when he returned home, Jack's mother was extremely angry. She said, "You foolish boy! He took your cow and gave you worthless beans!" She threw the beans out of the window, making Jack very sad. He went to sleep that night without having any dinner.

The next morning, Jack woke up and looked out of the window. To his surprise, he saw a huge beanstalk that had grown from the magic beans! He climbed up the beanstalk and reached a kingdom in the sky. In that kingdom, there lived a giant and his wife. Jack entered their house and found the giant's wife in the kitchen. Jack asked her, "Could you please give me something to eat? I am very hungry!" The kind wife gave him bread and milk. While he was eating, the giant returned home. The giant was enormous and looked very scary. Jack got scared and quickly hid inside.

The giant shouted, "Fee-fifo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman. Whether he's alive or dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread!" The wife assured the giant, saying, "There is no boy in here!" So, the giant ate his food and went to his room. He took out sacks filled with gold coins, counted them, and kept them aside. Then he went to sleep. During the night, Jack came out of his hiding place, took one sack of gold coins, and climbed down the beanstalk. He gave the coins to his mother, who became very happy. They lived well for some time.

Jack climbed the beanstalk again and went to the giant's house. Once again, he asked the giant's wife for food, but while he was eating, the giant returned. Jack got frightened and quickly hid under the bed. The giant cried out, "Fee-fifo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman. Whether he's alive or dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread!" The wife reassured the giant, saying, "There is no boy in here!" The giant finished his food and went to his room, where he had a magical hen. He commanded the hen to lay an egg, and it laid a golden egg. When the giant fell asleep, Jack took the hen and climbed down the beanstalk. Jack's mother was very pleased with him.

After some days, Jack once again climbed the beanstalk and went to the giant's castle. For the third time, he met the giant's wife and asked for some food. Once again, the giant's wife gave him bread and milk. However, while Jack was eating, the giant returned home and shouted, "Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman. Whether he's alive or dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread!" The wife said, "Don't be silly! There is no boy in here!" The giant possessed a magical harp that could play beautiful songs. While the giant slept, Jack took the harp and was about to leave. Suddenly, the magic harp cried out, "Help master! A boy is stealing me!" The giant woke up, spotted Jack with the harp, and became furious. He chased Jack, but Jack was too quick. He ran down the beanstalk and reached his home. The giant followed him down. Jack hurriedly entered his house, grabbed an axe, and started chopping the beanstalk. The giant fell and died.

Jack and his mother were now very wealthy, and they lived happily ever after.
