Write a letter to your friend describing how you celebrated pahela Baishakh.
Dear Rezoana,
I hope you're doing well. I wanted to start this letter by sending my warm regards to you. I hope that you're feeling healthy and strong, thanks to the blessings of Almighty Allah. I'm also doing well, thankfully.
I wanted to tell you about a recent event we had here. We celebrated Pahela Baishakh, which is the Bengali New Year's Day, at our school. It's a very important day that represents our Bengali culture. People all over the country celebrate it with traditional festivities. Since it's a public holiday, people of all ages and religions gather together in the morning at a special place, wearing traditional clothes. They sing songs and play music to welcome the Bengali New Year.
At our school, we also joined in the celebrations. We students and our teachers wore traditional clothes and sang songs together to welcome the new year. Artists performed folk songs and lively tunes. Afterward, we enjoyed special treats like batasha (a type of sweet cake made from molasses) and khoi (crispy rice).
Personally, I had a delightful meal called panta-illish, which I enjoyed very much. I also wore new clothes and visited public squares and places. It was a really memorable day that I'll cherish for a long time.
I'll stop here for today, but I look forward to sharing more with you when we can chat in person. Please feel free to write to me whenever you have a moment.
Sending you lots of love and well wishes,
Farjana
