How's everything? I hope you're doing well. You asked me about the "Global Village" in your last letter, so I'm here to explain it to you.

The term "Global Village" was thought up by a guy named Marshall McLuhan from Canada. He talked about it in his books called "The Gutenberg Galaxy: The Making of Typographic Man" (published in 1962) and "Understanding Media" (published in 1964). What he meant was that the world feels like a small village because of technology, especially electricity. This lets us share information really fast from anywhere to anywhere.

It's pretty cool because McLuhan actually talked about something like the Internet way before it actually became a thing. He called it an "extension of consciousness." Imagine that, he saw it coming almost 30 years before it happened!

Nowadays, we use "Global Village" to talk about the Internet and the World Wide Web. On the Internet, it's easy for people to talk to each other, even if they're far away. This makes our social circles bigger because we can find others who like the same things as us. McLuhan said this makes us like one big global community. He also said that because we can quickly know what's happening all around the world and react to it, we feel more connected to each other.

Think about how we're able to link our websites together on the web. It's like a new way for people to connect with each other. This can change the way we live and interact with each other, but people are still figuring out exactly how. Some say that because we can communicate so fast, our communities are changing and becoming more connected. Others wonder if this is making us more open to different cultures or not.
