Write a Letter to Your Friend Informing Her of Your Success in a Debate Competition
Dear Farhana,
I hope this letter finds you well. I was really happy to receive your letter. I wanted to share some exciting news with you – I won the first prize in the English debate competition at our college! The topic of the debate was "Why Learning English is Important in Our Society." I thought I'd give you a quick summary of what I talked about.
English is a language that's spoken all over the world. A lot of important information and knowledge from modern times can be found in English. If we don't learn English, we might miss out on connecting with the rest of the world. Our education might also suffer because many of the books we need for higher studies are written in English. It's not realistic to replace English with Bengali overnight.
Sadly, some people don't value English as much as they should. This is causing the quality of English to decline, which in turn affects the quality of education. It's about time we realize how important English is and take steps to improve its quality.
I hope we can catch up soon and discuss this in person.
Take care,
Shahida
