Write a Letter to Your Friend Living Abroad Describing the Rainy Season of Bangladesh

Dear Any,

I hope this letter finds you well. I just received your letter where you asked me about the rainy season in Bangladesh. It's great to catch up!

In Bangladesh, the rainy season happens for two months, which are called Ashar and Shrabon. During the summer, a wind called the south-east monsoon comes over our country from the ocean. The ocean water gets heated up by the sun, and this hot water turns into steam, which forms clouds when it cools down. These clouds cover the sky and make it look grey and dark. And then, it starts raining really hard.

Sometimes, the rain continues for several days. When that happens, all the roads get flooded and covered in mud, making them very slippery. The heavy rain can also lead to something called floods, where there's too much water everywhere. This is a big problem in our country. The floods can damage crops, and even though the government is trying to help, the issue is quite complex. The fields where we grow crops, like corn, end up underwater, and the villages in Bangladesh can look like they're floating on little islands.

I hope this gives you a clear picture of what the rainy season is like here. Please take care, and I look forward to hearing more from you.

Warm regards,

Suchi
