Bangladesh is a land of natural calamites. Different kinds of calamities occur in this country almost every year. The most common natural calamities are flood, cyclone, nor'wester, drought, river erosion etc. They cause havoc beyond description. They damage crops, houses, wash away cattle and uproot trees. Thousands of people become affected. They remain out of work. They become homeless, foodless and cothless. They take shelter in relief camps and on the embankment. Sometimes epidemic breaks out and many people die. Roads and bridges are damaged. During and after natural calamites Government, NGOS, rich people, voluntire oganizations, foreign countries come forward to help the affected people and repair roads bridges. The effects after a natural calamity are more dreadful. In a nutshell, natural calamitie cause untold sufferings to us. So, we should take precautionary measures to minimize the loss.
