Professor Younus is a banker and economist. In 1940 he was born in Chittagong and educated there. He was awarded a full bright scholarship and received his Ph.D from Vanderbilt university in U. S. A. In 1972 he became head of the economics department at Chittagong university. His main target is to remove the poverty and unemployment problem from the world. His mission has become successful. In 1983 he founded the Grameen Bank and introduced the micro-credit. In 1997 he organized the world's first micro-credit summit in Washington D. C. In 2006 he got the Nobel Prize for the world peace. He is a friend to the poor. We are very proud of him.
