A Visit To A Historical Place Paragraph For Any Class

It happened on May 25, 2008. We went to a place called Paharpur. We began our trip from a town called Patnitala in Naogaon. The distance from Patnitala to Paharpur wasn't too far. We started our journey from Nazirpur Government College at 8 in the morning. We rented a small bus and the driver started driving it. After a little while, we got to Dhamurhat. We took a short rest there and then continued our journey. We arrived at Paharpur around 10 in the morning. There, we saw the remains of a big old building from more than a thousand years ago. This old place is called a Buddhist monastery. It's like a big school for people who believed in Buddhism, and it was the biggest one in that part of the world. People called it "Sompura Mahavira," which means a great place. This place was really important for learning and religion from a long time ago until not too long ago.

We also went to a museum in Paharpur. It was on the side of the old building. Inside, we saw many statues of a wise person named Goutam Buddha. We also looked at very old coins and statues of gods and goddesses from another religion called Hinduism. We saw all these statues and interesting things. There was a small book that told us about the history of this big old place called "Sompur Mahavihara." We met an old man there who was more than 80 years old. He told us about the history of the place. He said that this place used to be a wild forest. A long time ago, some people from a city called Calcutta came here, and they cut down the trees to make it not a forest anymore. The government of the British people who ruled back then dug up the ground and found these old things that we saw. We spent about four peaceful hours in Paharpur and then started going back home. We got back home around 9 at night.
