Flood Paragraph

When too much water spreads over the land, it's called a flood. In Bangladesh, during the rainy season called monsoon, it rains really hard. This happens almost every year, and it can be both good and bad for us.

Floods happen because of heavy rain and water flowing from rivers in India into our rivers. Floods can harm our lives and things. Houses break, animals are carried away by water, plants get hurt, and trees get pulled out of the ground. Lots of people don't have homes anymore. This happened really badly in 1988, 1998, 2004, and 2007. The water level rose so high that the whole country was underwater. Fixing everything took a long time. Most of the crops were ruined. The people who were affected felt really, really sad.

But floods can also be good. They make the ground good for growing things by bringing lots of soil. This helps crops grow well. The water also cleans up and makes the environment nice by taking away dirt and pollution. We can catch plenty of fish when there's a flood.

After the flood, though, there are problems. People can get sick with diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, and typhoid.

The government needs to do things to control floods. They should clean out rivers and make a good system to drain away water. They should do this as soon as possible.
