Paragraph The Historic Speech of 7th March
We have some important days in our country that we remember. March 7th is one of those special days that make us proud. In 1971, on this day, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave a very important speech that helped our country become independent. It was a big deal!
Back in 1971, on March 7th, at a place called Ramna Race Course in Dhaka, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman talked to more than two million people. He spoke to the people of our country. At that time, there was a lot of tension between East Pakistan and the powerful people in West Pakistan. In his speech, Bangabandhu said, "We're fighting for our freedom this time. We want to be independent." He asked everyone to disobey the rules and make their houses strong like forts.
Because of this speech, the people in Bangladesh got inspired to be ready for a war to become independent. This speech was like saying, "We're our own country now." It showed how countries that became free from colonial rule struggled to include everyone from different backgrounds like culture, language, and religion.
This speech was not written down beforehand; it was just spoken from the heart. In 2017, UNESCO, a group that takes care of important things from history, decided that this speech was very special. They put it on a list called the "Memory of the World Register" as a very important document from history.
