Paragraph Our War of Independence

When a country is treated unfairly, used unfairly, and not given what it needs, sometimes a war happens to make the country free. This kind of war is called a war of independence. In 1971, Bangladesh became free after a very long and violent fight that lasted nine months. This fight started because of events like the Language Movement in 1952 and the Mass Upsurge in 1969. The people of Bangladesh wanted to be free because they were treated badly by the rulers of Pakistan, which was the country they were part of at that time.

When the people of Bangladesh spoke up against being treated unfairly, the leaders of Pakistan sent their armed forces to control them. To stop the people from speaking up, the armed forces attacked them on the night of March 25, 1971, and this started our War of Independence. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was a leader in our fight for freedom, was taken prisoner. People from all parts of society, no matter their background, came together with simple weapons to fight against the armed forces. They used guerrilla tactics, which means they fought in small groups and used surprise to their advantage. They fought against the armed forces that had many weapons.

A group called Mukti Bahini was formed to fight against the armed forces. They fought in different parts of the country. The armed forces killed many innocent people, including smart people like intellectuals, doctors, engineers, and teachers. But they couldn't succeed in their bad plan. They had to give in to the wishes of the people in Bangladesh. This happened because the determination of the people was stronger than big weapons.

Finally, on December 16, 1971, the people of Bangladesh won their fight for freedom, and a new country called Bangladesh was born. This victory came at the cost of three million lives. Every year, we celebrate our freedom on this day with a lot of excitement and joy.
