National Day Celebration
Every year, we enthusiastically celebrate our National Day with deep respect. Our national day is on the 26th of March. This special day is important because in 1971, early in the morning, Bangabandhu declared that Bangladesh was independent. On this day, we visit the National Memorial in Savar to show our respect to the brave people who sacrificed their lives for Bangladesh's independence.
At the National Memorial, we honor the martyrs by placing flower wreaths near the monument. We also bow our heads in front of the mass graves to show our respect for their sacrifices. We silently pray for the martyrs there.
The day is also marked by other important activities in our country. The Bangladesh Army organizes a special parade. The national flag is raised, and the national anthem is sung at various places. This day encourages us to make a promise to work for the progress of our country.
