Devotion to Mother Story

Since he was just a young kid, Bayazid Bostami always helped his mom and listened to her. Something interesting happened one night. He was studying in his room, and his mom was asleep nearby. In the middle of the night, while he was reading, he heard his mom saying "water," "water." Bayazid took a glass and went to the jar in the corner of the house. But oh no! There was no water in the jar. He tried really hard to find water, but he couldn't. He thought for a bit and remembered there was a place to get water at the edge of the village. Even though he was scared to go out alone in the dark night, he knew his mom needed water. So, he decided to go by himself. He took the jar, got water from the shower, and came back home safely. He filled a glass with water and went to his mom. But she was asleep. He wondered if he should wake her up. Instead, he stood beside her with the glass. When morning came, his mom woke up and saw him standing there. She didn't understand why he was standing like that. But then she remembered what happened last night. She asked him, "Why didn't you wake me up instead of standing here for so long?" He answered, "I didn't want to disturb your sleep, Mom." His mom was really happy to hear this. She prayed that Allah would bless her son with great honor. Allah answered her prayer and made Bayazid one of His most devoted followers.
