Value of Attire Story

There was a famous poet named Sheikh Saadi who lived in Iran. He liked to live a simple life. Once, while he was on his way to the king's palace in Iran, he stayed at the house of a nobleman for a night. At that time, he was wearing very plain and simple clothes. The servants at the nobleman's house thought he was just an ordinary person, so they didn't treat him very well. They gave him basic food and didn't pay much attention to his comfort. Although Saadi felt sad about this, he didn't say anything and managed to get through the night.

The next morning, he continued his journey to the king's palace and spent some time there. On his way back home, he stayed at the same nobleman's house again, but this time he was wearing expensive and elegant clothes. The nobleman recognized him in his fancy outfit and thought he was a person of high status. As a result, the nobleman treated him with great respect and hospitality. The servants brought him delicious and rich food. Saadi understood why he was being treated so differently this time.

However, Saadi wanted to teach the nobleman a valuable lesson. When it was time to eat, instead of actually eating the delicious food, he started putting the food into his pockets. This surprised both the nobleman and his servants. The nobleman asked politely, "Excuse me, sir, but what are you doing?" Saadi replied, "I'm doing what's right. When I came to your house a few days ago wearing simple clothes, nobody cared about my comfort. Now that I'm dressed in fancy clothes, everyone is respecting me and offering me rich food. It seems like it's not me who deserves this food, but my clothes. So, I'm putting the food in my pockets."

Upon hearing this, the nobleman realized his mistake. He felt very embarrassed and apologized to Saadi.
