World Heritage sites of Bangladesh Paragraph

Important and natural things in Bangladesh are written down on UNESCO's World List of Special Places. Right now, there are three Special Places in Bangladesh. They are the Old Mosque City of Bagherhat, the Broken Buddhist Building at Paharpur, and the Sundarbans forest. The first two places were added to the list in 1985 because they're important to our history and culture, while the third place was added in 1997 because it's an important natural area.

Countries that are part of UNESCO can make a list of possible places that could be added to the Special Places list. The Special Places group looks at this list and decides which ones should be added. In 2014, Bangladesh had 5 places on this possible list. These places are Halud Bihara, Jaggadala Bihara, Lalbagh Fort, Mahansthangarh and its surroundings, and the Lalmai-Mainamati Group of Monuments. All of these were added in 1999 because they're important to our culture.

When a place becomes a Special Place, it gets known around the world. The government and other groups should work together to show our important natural and cultural places to the whole world.
