Polythene is a lightweight, thin type of plastic that is commonly used for making bags or for keeping food and other items dry and fresh. Polythene bags for shopping are very convenient and useful. However, using polybags without thinking can seriously harm the environment. Polythene is not easily broken down and it resists water and air. So, when used bags are thrown around, they can harm the soil by blocking the flow of air and water, making it less fertile. Used polybags also create problems for the sewage system by blocking the flow of water and waste. That's why we need to be careful about using polybags excessively. To solve this problem, we should ban the production and use of polybags with the goal of protecting the environment. Of course, this might cause some minor inconvenience for people, but it's important to do it for the greater good of the environment. However, it wouldn't be possible to completely ban polythene. Many dry food items and medicines are packed in polythene, and it's necessary to allow that. Instead of using polybags, we should use bags made from materials that can decay, like paper and jute, for items that spoil easily. Both the people and the government need to work together to address this situation. The government can pass effective laws to protect our environment.
