Paragraph on The Rootless

The word "rootless" is used to describe poor and miserable people who live in slums or on the streets. These individuals, driven by poverty, come to cities in search of food to survive. They find shelter wherever they can, such as on pavements, at bus and train stations, along railway lines, in low-lying areas, on river embankments, near garbage dumping sites, or close to residential areas. They construct makeshift houses using whatever materials they can find, like plastic sheets, bamboo, papers, or leaves.

The men among them work as porters, construction workers, factory workers, rickshaw pullers, or street vendors. The women take up jobs in residential homes, construction sites, or garment factories. I feel sorry for them because their circumstances are difficult. Sometimes, they engage in unlawful activities to survive in this harsh world. The children who lack parents also become rootless. They are deprived of their basic needs. We should have compassion for them and make efforts to relocate them to suitable places. No one should look down on them. The wealthy individuals and the government should offer them suitable job opportunities, so they can live with modesty and honesty.
