Paragraph on Silence
People don't like silence. When we're born, we cry, and when we die, we're quiet. In between, we try our best to make noise and avoid silence. We're afraid of silence more than anything else. Even when we talk to someone, we try to avoid long pauses because we think it means we're not important. We envy those who talk a lot, even if what they say is not meaningful. We know that most conversations are just empty chatter, but we want to join in and show that we're alive. The purpose of conversation is not always to share ideas; it's often just to keep making noise. Some noise is pleasant to hear and even enjoyable to think about. In fact, being able to make noise is considered a good quality in a person.
