A Rainy Day

A rainy day is a day when heavy rain falls continuously. The day is gray and sad. The sky is covered with clouds all day. You can't see the sky. Sometimes there's heavy rain, sometimes a light drizzle, and sometimes strong winds blow. The heavy rain comes with thunder, lightning, and strong wind. Nobody can go outside without an umbrella. Water collects on roads, making them muddy and slippery. People might slip and fall on the muddy roads. Rivers, ponds, and canals become full. Roads and paths turn muddy and hard to walk on. Many people walk on the road holding their shoes and with their clothes rolled up. A rainy day is difficult for poor people. Day laborers can't work, so they can't earn money and might go hungry. Students enjoy a day off at home. Wealthy people who don't have urgent work stay home and entertain themselves with fancy dishes like special rice dishes. The rain washes away dirt and makes the soil soft. Farmers can prepare their fields for planting seeds. So, while a rainy day has some negative sides, it also has positive effects. Still, overall, a rainy day isn't pleasant.
