Illiteracy

Not knowing how to read and write is called illiteracy. This is a big problem for a country because it stops progress. A country can't grow if its people can't read or write. When people can't read, they don't know what's right or wrong. People who can't read can't help make their community or country better. For example, Bangladesh is not doing well in many ways because many people there can't read. They don't know about staying clean, eating right, or planning their families. Even though Bangladesh is good at farming, they don't use good ways to grow things, so they stay poor. Also, not knowing about staying clean and eating right makes people sick. And because they don't know how to plan their families, there are too many people in the country. But we can fix this problem of illiteracy. We can build schools, even for adults at night. We can teach people about planning families, use good ways to farm, and tell everyone that illiteracy is bad. This way, illiteracy can go away and Bangladesh can be proud among other countries.
