Who Is to Bell the Cat Completing Story
Who Can Put a Bell on the Cat's Neck?
Once upon a time, a bunch of little mice were having a great time in a rich man's house. There was plenty of delicious food available for them. They nibbled on cereals and chewed holes in the house. They even snipped at clothes and playfully nibbled on the children as they slept. Their constant squeaks and scuffles echoed throughout the house. This made the owner pretty unhappy. To put an end to the disturbance, the owner decided to bring in a cat. The cat became the house's new mouse hunter, prowling after the little critters each day. Naturally, the mice were terrified of this new feline foe.
So, the mice called a meeting to figure out what to do. Many mice shared their thoughts, but none of the ideas seemed right. As the meeting was about to wrap up, a young mouse stood up and asked if it could propose something. Everyone agreed. The young mouse suggested, "Let's tie a bell around the cat's neck. That way, we'll hear it coming and can hide before it reaches us." All the mice clapped and cheered for this idea.
Then, an older mouse stood up and urged everyone to calm down. It asked a crucial question, "Who will put the bell on the cat?" The room fell silent, and the mice looked at each other in uncertainty. The truth was, no one felt brave enough to take on the task of putting a bell on the cat. And with that, the meeting ended without a clear solution.
In the end, the old saying "Who will bell the cat?" remained unanswered, and the mice continued to deal with the cat's presence without a perfect plan in place.
