A dialogue between the librarian and the student
Student: Good morning, sir.
Librarian: Good morning, please.
Student: Can I join the library?
Librarian: Are you a student at this college?
Student: Yes, I am in B.A. 1st year.
Librarian: Great. Here's a form. Fill it and get it signed by your class teacher.
Student: Is there a membership fee?
Librarian: Yes, it's Rs. 100 in cash.
Student: How many books can I borrow at once?
Librarian: You'll have two cards and can borrow two books at a time.
Student: How long can I keep the books?
Librarian: You can keep a book for two weeks. Renew or return it after that, or pay a fine of Rs. 50 per day.
Student: What are the library hours?
Librarian: The library is open from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. every day.
Student: And on Sundays and holidays?
Librarian: On Sundays and holidays, it's open from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Student: Can I bring my own books?
Librarian: No, you can't bring your own books.
Student: How many books do you have?
Librarian: We have almost twenty thousand books.
Student: Do you cover all subjects?
Librarian: Yes, we have books on nearly all subjects.
Student: Do you have newspapers and magazines?
Librarian: Yes, we subscribe to important newspapers and magazines. You can read them in the reading room, but you can't take them home.
Student: Thanks, sir. I'll become a member tomorrow after submitting the form and fee.
Librarian: That sounds good.
