A dialogue between two friends about daily routines and activities
Qamar: Hey, Jawad! Good morning.
Jawad: Good morning, Qamar. What brings you here?
Q: I'm getting my shoes polished.
J: Don't you do it yourself?
Q: Nah, I'm usually pressed for time, so I get them polished daily.
J: You do it every day?
Q: Yep, almost every day. Can't go to the office with dirty shoes, you know. How often do you polish yours?
J: I don't do it every day. I prefer to polish them myself. By the way, where are you headed?
Q: I'm off to the hospital. I need to get my eyes checked. I usually get them tested every two years.
J: Oh, you mean you change your glasses every two years.
Q: Exactly. I get new glasses every two years. Last time was two years ago. And where are you going?
J: I'm going to get a haircut.
Q: How often do you get one?
J: Once a month. Last time was about a month ago. What about you?
Q: I don't go to a salon. I cut my own hair with a trimmer from time to time.
J: So, you don't have a barber do it for you.
Q: Nope, that's correct. Next week, I have a dentist appointment. I need to get my teeth cleaned.
J: How often do you do that?
Q: At least once a year. There's also one cavity that needs filling. If it can't be fixed, I might have to get the tooth extracted.
J: It's a good idea to get our teeth cleaned periodically. Otherwise, tartar builds up. By the way, I have to go to the laundry as well. Ever since the servant left, I've been getting my clothes washed there.
Q: Who handles the cooking then?
J: My wife takes care of all the cooking. I prefer it that way, rather than having servants do it. Also, tomorrow, I'm getting my house painted. The paint was just delivered.
Q: Oh, I had my house painted last month. It was chaos for a week.
J: Yeah, we'll have to bear with it until all the work is done.
