Chikungunya Disease । চিকুনগুনিয়া রােগ । Paragraph-Writing
The term chikungunya means 'walking oddly'. Chikungunya is an illness caused by a virus called Chikungunya. This virus is a type of RNA virus. Like the dengue virus, it spreads to people through mosquitoes, specifically the Aedes mosquito, which usually bites during daylight hours. Many people who catch the Chikungunya virus show certain signs. The most common signs are having a fever and feeling joint pain. Other signs involve having a headache, muscle discomfort, swollen joints, or a skin rash. These signs usually show up within a few days after getting bitten by a mosquito carrying the virus. Chikungunya disease doesn't usually lead to death, but the symptoms can be really painful and make a person feel weak. Most patients recover within a week. Really young and old individuals, as well as those with existing health issues, have a higher chance of getting seriously sick from it. Doctors can confirm Chikungunya disease with blood tests. Currently, there's no vaccine to prevent the Chikungunya virus, and there isn't any specific medicine for treating it. People with this illness should rest well and drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated. Sometimes, doctors might suggest using medicines like acetaminophen or paracetamol to lower fever and ease pain. Since Chikungunya disease isn't often fatal, there's no need to be overly concerned. However, it's important to be cautious about the mosquitoes that spread this disease.
