Outline:
1. Film Industry Before Pakistan's Creation
2. Beginning of Pakistani Film Industry
3. Reasons for the Decline of Pakistani Film Industry
4. Conclusion
When Pakistan started, the film business was all in the Indian city of Bombay. All the actors, producers, poets, singers, and musicians lived there. Muslims had to move to Pakistan, but many Muslim actors and musicians stayed in India.
Those who came to Pakistan had to start a new film business. They chose Lahore to do this. This was the beginning of our film industry. Later, Karachi also became a place for movies. At first, they made movies in Urdu and Punjabi languages. After some time, they also made movies in Pushto and Sindhi languages. In 1960, Pakistani films started doing really well. They made great movies that were popular and made a lot of money.
Because the movie business was doing well, they built new studios in Lahore. At first, they made black and white movies, but then they started making color movies, and people liked them a lot. They even made big, widescreen movies like they did in India and later in Pakistan.
But the movie business in India went forward much faster. The reasons are clear. In India, people could watch movies without any problem, but in Pakistan, because of religion, people couldn't watch movies freely. India is a big country with lots of movie theaters, while Pakistan is smaller and has only a few movie theaters.
Now, things are really good for the Indian movie business. Indian producers are making movies with Hollywood stars and spending a lot of money on them. Indian actors are also acting in Hollywood movies. They make more than 700 movies every year because they have a big audience.
But things are not good for the Pakistani movie business. For more than ten years, it has been going down. There are only a few movie theaters left in Pakistan.
The reason for this is Indian movies and cable TV. Every new Indian and Hollywood movie is on cable TV and CDs. People like to watch Indian movies, and educated people prefer English movies. There isn't just one reason for the Pakistani movie business going down.
1. Our writers are not writing stories that are modern.
2. We don't have good technology.
3. There aren't enough movie theaters.
4. Indian movies are brought into Pakistan.
5. People who aren't educated watch movies.
6. We don't have schools for making movies.
7. There are people making movies who aren't educated.
If we solve these problems, our movie business can become better again.
