Dialogue Between Two Friends on Earthquake
Zafi: Hey Zarif! How are you?
Zarif: I'm good, and you?
Zafi: I'm good too. How did you feel when the big shaking of the ground happened in the city last night?
Zarif: Oh yeah, I got really scared when the earth shook. I can't forget how everything was moving.
Zafi: I understand how you must've felt.
Zarif: Oh my gosh! It was one of the scariest times of my life.
Zafi: What were you doing back then?
Zarif: I was in my room reading when the ground started shaking. I went under my table because I was so scared, and I stayed there until the shaking stopped.
Zafi: You did the right thing. I was also in my room reading. One of my neighbors was so scared that they fell on the stairs.
Zarif: That's awful! First the shaking, and then an accident! Were they badly hurt?
Zafi: No, they just hit their head. So, we gave them ice and they felt better after a while. But it made me think about how safe we are if a big earthquake happens.
Zarif: Absolutely! Imagine the buildings in this city. They're often not built very well.
Zafi: You're right. Many buildings in this city might fall down if there's a really strong earthquake, like a 7 to 8 on the earthquake scale.
Zarif: Oh no! I can't even imagine what might happen to the people inside them. It's really scary to think about.
Zafi: Yeah, it could cause a lot of people to get hurt and things to be damaged. The people in charge should make strict rules for how buildings are made to make the damage less.
Zarif: Definitely, and all buildings should have to follow those rules when they're built.
Zafi: Thanks for the good talk. Goodbye.
Zarif: You're welcome. Goodbye, see you later.
