My Country
The name of our country is Bangladesh. It's in the southern part of Asia. It's not too big, about 147,570 square kilometers, but lots of people live here. We became our own country on December 16, 1971, before that we were part of Pakistan. The main city is Dhaka.
Around 160 million people live here, and most of them are Muslims. There are also Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, and Tribes who live here happily. Most people talk in Bangla.
We have a lot of rivers here, so we're often called the land of rivers. The Padma, the Meghna, and the Jamuna are the biggest ones. We get lots of different fish from these rivers. Our land is really good for growing things like crops and fruits.
We have six seasons here, and each one has different weather. We grow different foods in different seasons, like rice, jute, sugarcane, potato, and more. Our special fruits, like mangoes, jackfruit, guavas, and others are loved by people who live here and people who visit.
There are many old places in our country that make it more interesting. Some nice places are Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, St. Martin Island, and the Sundarbans. Many people from different places come to visit these places and enjoy the beauty of nature.
People say Bangladesh is special because it's so beautiful and has lots of resources. Our country is getting better and better, and we're happy to live here.
