The Ant and the Dove

Once upon a really hot day, there was a tiny ant who was really thirsty and looking for water. She wandered around for a while until she found a little spring. To get to the water, she had to climb up a tall blade of grass. But as she was climbing, she slipped and fell right into the water. It could have been really bad, but luckily, there was a dove sitting on a tree nearby. This dove saw the ant struggling in the water and knew it needed help.

So, the dove had an idea. It plucked a leaf from the tree and gently dropped it into the water close to the ant. The ant saw the leaf, swam over to it, and climbed onto it. The leaf became like a little boat and carried the ant safely to the dry ground. Just at that moment, a person who was trying to catch the dove came close. The person wanted to use a net to trap the dove. But the ant knew the dove had helped her, so she wanted to help the dove too. She quickly bit the person on the heel, which really hurt! The person was so surprised by the pain that they dropped the net, and the dove flew away to be safe.

So, because the ant was kind to the dove, and the dove was kind to the ant, they both helped each other out of tricky situations. And they became friends, showing that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.
