Subject: Concerns about Excessive Use of Microphones
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns, which I believe many people share, about the excessive use of loudspeakers and microphones during festive occasions. I have chosen to bring this matter to your attention through your esteemed daily as I believe it's an issue that needs consideration.
It has come to my notice that the use of microphones has become quite prevalent and, to be honest, it's become quite a bothersome trend. Nowadays, especially during festivals and events organized by the younger generation, there's a tendency to use loudspeakers at an extremely high volume, starting from early morning till late at night. Unfortunately, the organizers seem to be indifferent to the discomfort this causes to patients and even those who are trying to concentrate on their studies.
What's even more disheartening is that when objections are raised against this excessive noise, the organizers often respond rudely and dismissively. They seem to be unaware of the fact that the loud noise not only irritates the general public but also adds to the distress of patients trying to recover or rest. This situation is truly unfortunate, and it's disheartening to note that the local authorities, including the police, have shown a lack of concern in addressing this issue. The unchecked use of loudspeakers contributes significantly to noise pollution, affecting the tranquility of our surroundings.
I strongly believe that if the police take proactive steps to regulate the use of loudspeakers and microphones during festivals, it could make a significant difference. By ensuring that the regulations are adhered to, they could help mitigate this problem swiftly. Therefore, I earnestly request that you consider allocating a small space on your editorial page to shed light on this issue and draw the attention of the relevant authorities. Addressing this matter promptly would contribute to a more peaceful and harmonious environment for all.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
N. Sengupta
