Dear Sir/Madam,

Subject: Public Transport in a Bad State

I'm writing to you as a representative of the people in this village. We're facing a big problem with the public transport here and the elders of our community wanted me to reach out to you about it.

The situation with transportation is really bad, to the point where it's almost non-existent. The old road that was built a long time ago has been damaged by heavy rains at several spots. And things get even worse with the bridge over the Samba river. It's made of weak wood and termites have eaten away at it, making it unsafe for vehicles. This means we're pretty much cut off from the outside world. This is really concerning, especially during emergencies. For example, not long ago, a child in our village got really sick with malaria. Because of the bridge being in such bad shape, an ambulance couldn't cross it. So, we had to carry the child for about five kilometers to the other side of the river. It was a risky situation, and we're lucky the child survived.

This lack of transportation doesn't just affect emergencies; it also makes our daily lives difficult. Our local farmers are having a hard time because the cooperative society's truck can't reach them due to the bad road. This forces them to take their produce to the next village for selling. This makes it tough for them to grow enough food, and that's not good, especially when the country is trying to promote farming in rural areas.

The elders are hoping to talk to you directly about this. They'd really appreciate it if you could let them know when you're available to meet and discuss these urgent issues.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,
Shivam Sah
