God gave many gifts to nature, and trees are the most important ones. They help keep the balance of nature, crucial for life on Earth. Trees also affect the availability of natural resources like soil, water, coal, oil, and gas, and they play a big role in our lives and economy.
Trees are useful in many ways. They give us fruits that keep us healthy and protect us from diseases. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, so we can live on Earth. They provide shade and shelter for many people and add minerals to the soil, making it fertile. Trees also prevent soil erosion and influence the climate by attracting rain during dry seasons.
We get timber from trees, which we use for making houses and furniture. In some areas, trees are the only source of fuel for cooking. Trees also bring income for many people through fruit and timber sales. Trees are always part of our daily lives.
Bangladesh is mostly flat with rivers. The upper regions near the rivers are suitable for tree growth. We can plant trees along beaches, unused lands, and roadsides. Also, there are unused lands in hilly areas like Chittagong and Sylhet that should be used for tree planting.
June and July are the best time to plant trees in our country. During this period, tree planting should happen all over the country. Both the government and private sectors should raise awareness about the importance of tree planting.
Trees and forests have a big impact on climate. Bangladesh is prone to disasters like floods, cyclones, and droughts. Planting trees can help reduce the chances of such disasters. Trees are essential for a cool and healthy climate. Cutting down too many trees leads to deforestation, which is harmful. If we destroy trees randomly, the country will turn into a desert, and the temperature will rise due to the greenhouse effect. This will have a big impact on agriculture. So, preventing the greenhouse effect is vital, and tree planting is a must. It is one of our most important duties to stop cutting down trees for the sake of our existence. We should work to make our country greener for the benefit of the next generation.
