Write a letter to your friend describing the annual sports day of your school

Dear Robin,

I hope this letter finds you well. I'm not sure why you couldn't make it to our school's annual sports day, but I wanted to share all the exciting details with you.

Our school's big sports day happened on January 15th. The school building and the area around it looked really nice because they were decorated with flowers, colorful paper, and fancy decorations. They even put up a big tent right in front of the school. The day started at 8 in the morning. Guess who showed up? Sarah Begum Kabari, the important person from our area who helps make laws, came to our event as the most special guest.

In the beginning, all the athletes walked around the sports ground together, and the important guest saluted them. Then, someone from our school who leads the scout group lit a special torch, just like the one they use at the Olympics. After that, the special guest opened the sports day by letting some pigeons fly into the sky. Finally, the actual sports competitions began at 10 a.m.

People had practiced really hard for this day, and they took part in different kinds of sports like jumping high and far, running super fast, skipping with ropes, sitting on chairs in a fun way, throwing a heavy disk, even watching chickens race! But the most interesting parts were "Dress as you like," where people wore funny or interesting costumes, and "Harivanga," a cool thing for special guests.

I joined in three activities and guess what? I won first place in the long jump! The games went on until 4 p.m., and then everyone gathered to see who won different prizes. Our important guest gave out these prizes to the winners. I had a great time all day, but I missed having you there with us.

That's all for now. Oh, by the way, when you have your school's annual sports day, make sure to invite me! Sending you good wishes.

Take care,
Your buddy,
Shuvo
