Write a Letter to Your Friend Describing a Marriage Ceremony You Attended Recently
Dear Farhana,
I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share with you the details of a recent wedding ceremony I attended. It was quite an enjoyable experience!
A few days back, I had the chance to be part of a wonderful marriage celebration. Our neighbor, who is both rich and respected, was celebrating his daughter's wedding. The groom's side arrived at the bride's home around 7:45 in the evening. It was a little funny, as some kids from the bride's side playfully blocked the entrance, but they were convinced with sweets and small gifts to let everyone in. Once everyone settled down, the groom was given a special seat.
Shortly after, they served sweet sherbet to all the guests. The formal part of the wedding began with the marriage ceremony, but there was a bit of disagreement between the families regarding the wedding terms. Finally, with the help of the matchmaker, they were able to sort things out. Then, a religious leader called a Quazi recited verses from the Holy Quran and officially married the couple. The groom stood up and greeted the guests and his new relatives.
Afterwards, everyone was treated to a delicious and lavish dinner. Around 10 PM, it was time for the ruyyat ceremony, which is when the groom sees the bride's face for the first time. Once that was done, the newlywed couple left the house together. I was quite happy about the whole experience, as it allowed me to meet many people and enjoy a lovely evening.
Take care and talk to you soon!
Warmly,
Shahida
