Paragraph | A Journey By Launch

Any kind of journey is pleasant to all. But a journey by launch is specially very pleasant and enjoyable to me. During the last autumn vacation, I and some of my friends made a journey by launch from Narsingdi to Homna. The purpose was to attend the marriage ceremony of my friend's elder sister. On the fixed date, we reached Narsingdi launch ghat at 9 a.m. and got on the launch 'Rajj Poribohon'. After a few minutes the launch began to move forward. I looked out of the window and saw a large number of big and small boats plying up and down. We saw some steamers and motor launches plying through the river. Fishermen were catching fish in the river. Boys and girls were swimming. Women were going home with jars filled with water. There were green fields on both sides of the river. Cattle were grazing there. The launch stopped at some stations. At each station some passengers got down and some got on. At last the launch reached Homna station at 3 p.m. We got down from the launch and my friend received us cordially. I enjoyed the journey most. The memory of the journey will remain ever-fresh in my life.
