Composition | A Motor Ride

Travelling in a motor-car can be really fun, especially when you have your friends with you. Unlike a train, where you're stuck with strangers for hours, a motor-car gives you the freedom to choose your company. Trains can only stop at specific stations, but in a car, you can stop wherever you want. You can also enjoy the sights and sounds of the cities you pass through. Isn't that enjoyable, especially when you're with friends? These are the joys of travelling by motor-car.

Some time ago, I went on a drive from Karachi to Thatta with three friends. We started early in the morning and left the noisy city behind. We saw the beautiful houses in the new housing societies and the barracks of the soldiers at Malir Cantonment.

The road ahead was straight, with fields on both sides. The scenery was amazing, and we enjoyed the different views of nature. We were captivated by the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the countryside. We stopped whenever we wanted, getting out of the car to fully appreciate the natural beauty.

After a couple of hours, we reached Bhambore, a place with historical significance. There was a small museum there, and behind it was a dry and barren land. The scenery was wild and sometimes even bleak.

We spent about fifteen minutes there and then headed towards Thatta. We drove through the town's beautiful streets to a hotel where we freshened up and had some much-needed tea. After resting a bit, we freely explored the area. We admired the gleaming towers and minarets of the Shahi Mosque, built by Shahjahan. We also saw the burial ground where many Mughal royal family members were laid to rest. It looked like a "City of the Dead."

The return drive was equally enjoyable, even though it was nighttime. Sometimes we had trouble finding the right way. Even today, I still cherish the memory of that pleasant drive.
