Story | A Wood Cutter And His Axe

Once there was a poor man who cut trees in a forest near his village. He sold the wood in the market to make a living. But one day, while he was cutting wood, his axe accidentally slipped out of his hand and fell into a deep pond. The man didn't know how to swim or dive, so he sat there feeling very sad.

Then something amazing happened. A beautiful fairy appeared in front of the man. She spoke to him in a gentle voice, asking why he looked so sad and why he wasn't cutting wood.

The man sadly replied, "My axe fell into the pond, and now I can't cut wood anymore."

The fairy then showed him a shiny silver axe and asked if it belonged to him. The man looked at the axe and said, "No, that's not my axe."

Next, the fairy showed him a golden axe and asked, "Is this the axe you lost?" The man replied, "No, it's not. My axe was made of iron, and it was old." Then the fairy revealed the lost axe with a wooden handle. The man became happy and said, "Yes, that's my axe!"

The fairy was very pleased with the man's honesty, so she not only gave him back his own axe but also rewarded him with the golden and silver axes. From that day on, the woodcutter became wealthy and lived a happy life. This story teaches us an important lesson: honesty is always rewarded.
