Composition | Crops Of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a country with lots of flowers, fruits, and crops. The people there grow different crops all year round. Important crops include rice, wheat, chili, mustard, onion, garlic, turmeric, pulses, various fruits, jute, tea, cotton, tobacco, bamboo, sugarcane, rubber, and more.

Rice, wheat, pulses, chili, mustard, onion, garlic, and turmeric are crops that people eat, while jute, tea, tobacco, cotton, bamboo, and tuber are crops that bring in money.

Out of all the crops, rice is the most important. It is the main food for the people of Bangladesh. There are four types of rice: Aman, Aus, Boro, and Irri. Rice grows all over the country. Nowadays, there is also plenty of wheat. Additionally, chili, barley, jawar grow in our country.

Among the cash crops, jute, tea, cotton, rubber, and oilseeds are important. Bangladesh produces around 80 percent of the world's jute. Jute grows in all the districts. Tea is another important export item, and it grows in Sylhet and Chittagong. Cotton grows in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, and the Chittagong Hill Tracts. It is used in the country's mills. Rubber is also being grown in our country, and various types of oilseeds are grown here. We grow a lot of tobacco as well, which is exported after meeting our domestic demand.

Bangladesh is abundant in various fruits such as mangoes, pineapples, oranges, jackfruits, bananas, and coconuts. Bananas and coconuts grow throughout the year.

The economy of our country depends on crop production. We need to produce more food crops to meet our internal demand and earn money through exports. Setting up more mills for processing jute, cotton, tea, tobacco, and hides would enable us to export finished goods.

As a land of crops, we should strive to increase our crop production. This will help us become a prosperous country in the world.
