Story | Empty Vessel Makes Much Noise

Once there was a man who always bragged about how strong and brave he was. He would constantly talk about how he fought off a group of criminals all by himself and scared them away, how he defeated a lion with his bare hands, and how he tamed a wild bull. His neighbors thought he was a very courageous man and believed he would protect them if any robbers ever came to the village.

One night, a gang of robbers actually attacked the village. The villagers quickly sent a message to the boasting man, asking for his help. The messenger told him about the attack and urged him to come and assist them. But as soon as the boasting man heard about the robbers, he fainted. The messenger hurried back to the villagers and informed them that the boaster had fainted upon hearing about the robbers. They realized they had to face the robbers on their own.

After successfully repelling the attack, the villagers gathered to discuss the boaster's behavior. An elderly man who was present spoke up and said, "There's nothing surprising about his actions. He's just a person who talks a lot but doesn't have the courage to back it up."
