Story | Excess Of Anything Is Bad

Once upon a time, there was a field near the edge of a forest. The shepherds from the nearby villages would bring their sheep there. While the sheep ate the grass, the shepherds would pass the time by playing games. At the far end of the field stood a large, old tree. It had a big hole in it, but the opening was small. The shepherds would store their lunch bags in the hole. At noon, they would take out their food and have their lunch together.

One day, a hungry fox happened to pass by. It caught a whiff of the delicious food and followed the scent to the hole in the tree. The fox's tummy was empty from hunger, so it easily squeezed into the hole. The fox ate all the food from the lunch bags and its belly grew big on both sides. When it tried to come out of the hole, it couldn't fit anymore. Soon, the shepherds arrived to get their lunch bags. They discovered the fox trapped inside and gave it a good beating. They taught it a lesson that it's not right to take more than you need.
