Bangladesh is an independent country. We have an independence day. The 26h March is the Independence Day of Bangladesh. It is a glorious and historical day in our country. Every year we observe the day with profound solemnity and honour. On March 25, 1971 at dead of night the Pakistan Army attacked the unarmed and innocent Bangalies and killed them brutally. On 26 March, 1971 the independence of Bangladesh was declared and a bloody war began to save the country. Bangladesh got her independence on 16 December 1971. So 26 March is a red letter day in the history of Bangladesh. It is a public holiday. The country wear a festivelook. On this day meeting, seminars are held. Special prayèrs are offered in every religious prayer halls. We feel sad for the departed souls. We also feel proud of them for their heroic deeds and glorious achievement.
