Paragraph | The Central Shaheed Minar
The Central Shaheed Minar is a symbol of nation's respect for the martyrs of language movement. It is located in front of Dhaka Medical College in Dhaka. It was designed by a renowned architect, Hamidur Rahman. He combined all the aspirations of Bengali identity and nationalism in the design of the Shaheed Minar. Its vertical lines expose the manifestations of inner strength. The four columns of both sides of the central structure portray the balance and harmony of a united stand. On every 21st February people go to the Shaheed Minar bare footed and offer flowers to show respect to the language martyrs. People visiting it feel proud. It reminds them of the supreme sacrifice of a nation for its mother tongue. People arrange different programmes infront of the Shaheed Minar to protest any evil work or to establish their demand. In short, the Shaheed Minar encourages us to be brave, selfishless and patriot.
