Story | The Clever Fox And The Foolish Crow

Once upon a time, there was a hungry fox walking around in a forest, looking for something to eat. All of a sudden, the fox spotted a crow perched on a tree. The crow had a big piece of meat in its beak, which made the fox even hungrier. The fox sat down beneath the tree and started thinking of a clever plan to get the meat.

Then, a smart idea came to the fox's mind. She began talking to herself out loud, saying things like, "What a beautiful bird! Its black feathers are so shiny!" and "I bet this lovely bird has a beautiful voice too!" The crow fell into the trap of flattery. It looked down at the fox with pride, thinking it really was a gorgeous bird.

The fox then asked the crow, "Sweet bird, would you please sing a lovely song with your beautiful voice?" As the crow opened its beak to sing, the piece of meat slipped from its mouth and fell to the ground. The fox quickly grabbed the meat and ran away. The fox felt very pleased to have tricked the crow.

The moral of the story is: "Only foolish individuals are easily flattered."
