Story | The Hodge And The Crow

Once upon a time, there was a crow who made her home in a forest. She built her nest on a high branch of a strong tree. One day, she laid five eggs in her nest. She sat on top of her eggs to keep them warm and help them hatch.

One sunny morning, the crow was thinking about her soon-to-be-born chicks. Suddenly, a powerful wind blew through the forest. The branch she was sitting on shook violently, scaring her. She worried that the wind might break the branch where she had built her nest. So, the crow carefully moved her nest to a lower branch. Now she felt happy because her eggs were safe.

As the evening came, the weather calmed down. In that same area, there lived a mischievous animal called Hodge. He had been watching the crow's eggs for many days. He often thought about climbing the tree, but he knew that the nest was too high for him to reach.

To his surprise, Hodge saw that the crow's nest had been moved to a lower branch. When the crow left the nest, the greedy Hodge quickly climbed the tree. He took the eggs and ate them. The poor crow lost her babies because she had been too suspicious!

Moral of the story: Being overly cautious can sometimes lead to unfortunate consequences.
