Story | The Mouse Who Saved The Eagle
Once upon a time, there was a jungle where an eagle lived. This eagle had built its nest up high in a tree. Right at the bottom of the tree, a little mouse had made a small house for itself.
The eagle had its eyes on the mouse. One day, while the mouse was playing outside, the eagle swooped down from its nest and grabbed the mouse from the ground. Then, the eagle flew up high and went back to its nest.
When the eagle was about to peck at the mouse and eat it, the mouse begged, "Please don't kill me. I want to live, just like you do. If you spare me, maybe someday I can save your life."
After hearing the mouse's plea, the eagle started laughing, "Oh, what a funny idea! You're such a tiny creature. How could you ever save my life?"
The mouse pleaded again, "Please give me a year. If I haven't saved your life by then, you can kill me and eat me."
Somehow, the eagle agreed. It let go of the mouse and flew off to search for food again.
A few months went by, and one day, a bird-catcher came to the jungle. The bird-catcher set up a net near where the mouse and the eagle lived.
Before long, the eagle got caught in the net. It struggled hard but couldn't free itself. Then, it cried out for help, "Please save me! If anyone can hear me, please come and help!"
The mouse heard the eagle's cries and hurried out.
The bird-catcher was away having lunch.
The mouse wasted no time and started cutting the net with its sharp teeth. In no time, the eagle was free.
The eagle thanked the mouse for saving its life. It realized that no matter how small or insignificant someone may seem, they can still possess unique strengths.
Moral of the story: Don't let appearances or size deceive you. Even if someone seems silly or small, never underestimate them.
