Story | The Old Man And His Sons With Their Donkey

Once upon a time, there was an old man and his son who wanted to sell their donkey at the market. They were walking behind the donkey on their way. Along the way, they met an old woman who called them foolish because they had a donkey but were not riding it. So, the old man decided to make his son ride the donkey while he walked behind. As they continued on their journey, they came across another man who criticized them. He thought the boy was selfish for riding the donkey while the old man walked.

Feeling troubled by the man's comment, the boy got off the donkey and asked his father to ride instead. The old man agreed and rode the donkey, while the boy began walking behind. However, their decision attracted the attention of a girl they encountered later. She thought the father was cruel for not showing any sympathy towards his tired son who was walking. Listening to the girl, the father asked his son to sit in front of him on the donkey. The boy obeyed his father's request.

After a while, they met another boy who criticized them for riding a weak donkey. He suggested that they should carry the tired donkey to undo their cruelty. So, both the son and the father got down from the donkey and decided to carry it on their shoulders. They tied the donkey's legs with a rope and attempted to carry it. However, as they were crossing a canal, the donkey got scared and tried to free itself. In the struggle, it fell into the canal and drowned.

When the old man and his son returned to their village, they realized that they couldn't please everyone, and they had come back empty-handed. The story teaches us that it is almost impossible to make everyone happy and that everyone has different opinions.

The morals of the story are:

1. You cannot please everyone.

2. A rolling stone gathers no moss.

3. There are as many opinions as there are people.
