Composition | The Tiger/ National Animal Of Bangladesh

The tiger is a magnificent creature that looks similar to a cat. Because of this resemblance, it is often referred to as the cat's relative.

There are different types of tigers, including the Chita, Leopard, Wolf, and the Royal Bengal Tiger. Among them, the Royal Bengal Tiger from the Sundarbans is the largest. It holds the distinction of being our national animal.

The tiger has a round face and a body covered in brown fur with black spots. There are also tigers with spotted coats. Their eyes shine brightly, and they possess sharp claws on their four feet. Additionally, they have very sharp teeth. Tigers can grow up to six to eight feet in length and reach a height of four feet. Although their bodies are longer than those of lions, they are not very tall. Tigers have whiskers beneath their noses, and their heads are round.

Tigers inhabit tropical forests in Asia, Africa, and America. The Sundarbans in Bangladesh provide a suitable habitat for tigers.

Tigers are extremely ferocious and have a strong thirst for blood. They can be very cruel as well. During the day, they rest in thick bushes within the forest. At night, they venture out in search of prey. They patiently wait near rivers and pools for small animals to come and drink water, then they pounce on them. Tigers are stronger than any other animal. Female tigers, called tigresses, give birth to three or four cubs at a time, and they adore their offspring.

Blood is the most desired food for tigers, and they also have a strong preference for meat. They hunt cows, goats, and deer.

Tigers do not serve a significant purpose for us. Some devotees use their skin to sit on, and we can witness tigers performing tricks in circuses. However, tigers do contribute to the beauty of the forest.

The tiger holds the status of our national animal. It is the most powerful wild animal. As a result, the image of a tiger's head adorns our currency, the taka, and the shoulders of Bangladesh's army.
