Composition | Travelling
Traveling and exploring new places are an important part of our education. It's hard to believe something is true unless we see it with our own eyes. The education we receive in schools and colleges doesn't give us a clear understanding of different places.
For example, a student who never travels and only reads books won't understand the significance of places like Haldighat or Kurukshetra, except that battles were fought there. They only have that limited knowledge from books. But nowadays, people are curious about visiting historically important places. Modern individuals have a thirst for knowledge and a desire to visit these places.
Travel has become easier with the advancement of transportation systems. Modern modes of transport have made it faster to travel long distances. Traveling now doesn't cost more than it did in the past.
Different people have different reasons for traveling. Some travel for pleasure. People burdened with domestic or work-related stress go far away to find relief. Poets and writers travel to gather information for their writings. Businessmen visit various places to explore opportunities for expanding their businesses. Statesmen often visit other countries on goodwill missions.
Traveling offers the benefit of sightseeing and brings pleasure to the traveler. It also allows individuals to gain firsthand knowledge of diverse people in the world. One cannot truly appreciate the masterpieces of art unless they visit the places where they are created.
Visiting a place provides practical knowledge about important locations, people, things, and the nature of the people there. When we visit historical monuments, memories of the past come alive in our minds. Additionally, traveling broadens our vision, whereas staying in one place narrows our perspective.
Businesspeople learn about the natural products of different countries through travel. Students' intellectual horizons expand when they travel. Traveling acquaints us with the characteristics of people from foreign countries. It helps us understand the world better than we would have otherwise.
Another advantage of traveling is that it surpasses the benefits of reading books alone. In different countries, we encounter people with different tastes, fashions, castes, creeds, and colors. When we understand how they live, it fosters a sense of brotherhood within us.
Traveling allows us to break away from our routine and experience something different. Exploring mountains and forests allows us to appreciate the beauty of nature. City dwellers get to breathe fresh air and enjoy natural beauty through travel. Visiting places of natural splendor transports our thoughts to new territories. Nowadays, we can travel around the world in a short span of time.
