The Greedy Dog and his Reflection

Once upon a time in a little village, there lived a very adorable dog. This dog was so cute that everyone in the village liked to give it some food. One fine day, as the dog was strolling through the backyard of a house, someone kindly gave it a bone to munch on. The dog happily took the bone and scurried away to a quiet spot. There, it settled down and started chewing the bone contentedly. 

However, as time passed, the dog grew a bit weary. It decided to take a nap and placed the bone beside it. After a while, the dog woke up and picked up the bone with its mouth. It suddenly felt thirsty and decided to head to a nearby river. This river had a bridge crossing it. While walking alongside the river, the dog caught sight of its own reflection in the water. 

The greedy dog, not realizing it was looking at its own reflection, thought there was another dog holding a bone. It wanted that bone too, so it started barking at the reflection. In its excitement, the bone it was holding slipped from its mouth and plopped into the river. The poor dog lost its bone and felt regretful. It left that place and returned to the village feeling hungry.

Moral of the story: Being too greedy can lead to unhappiness and loss.
