THE MILK MAID’S DREAM
Once upon a time, there was a lady who lived in a little village. Every day, she would carry a container filled with milk to the nearby market to sell to her customers. While she walked, she often let her mind wander with dreams of what she could do with the money she earned.
She thought to herself, "With the money I make from selling this milk, I can buy some eggs. Those eggs will hatch into healthy chickens. Those chickens will grow into hens, and I can sell them for a good amount of money. With that money, I'll buy beautiful silk dresses and look really nice."
She imagined that when people asked her how she became so wealthy, she would proudly tilt her head and confidently say, "No." But as she daydreamed about saying "No," she unintentionally tossed her head, causing her pot of milk to tumble and spill all its contents on the ground.
The lesson here is that making elaborate plans without a solid foundation can lead to disappointment. In other words, it's important to be realistic and not build castles in the air.
