Food Adulteration

Imagine someone making your food worse by adding bad things to it or taking away the good parts. That's what food adulteration means. It's not just about adding bad stuff on purpose, but also when food becomes dirty with harmful things while it's being grown, stored, processed, moved around, and given out. These harmful things are called "adulterants," and they make the food not safe to eat. There are different types of adulterants: some are added on purpose, some by accident, and some are metals. 

There are many reasons why food becomes adulterated. Sometimes, people who sell food want to make more money, so they cheat by using bad stuff. Also, because there's not always enough food, or because more people are living in cities and need food, this can also make food not so good.

If the food you eat has bad stuff in it, it can make you sick. For example, if someone adds a kind of oil that's not good to eat into your cooking oil, it might even cause cancers. Or if they put a dangerous chemical in your spices, it could hurt your body and even cause serious problems like making your brain not work well. It's really not good.

Since this is a big problem all around the world, the government needs to do things to stop it. They have to take steps to make sure the food we eat is safe and healthy.
